(the) (house-)site of Coireall
Coireall – ainm pearsanta
Tá an baile fearainn seo taobh le seanláthair eaglasta i mbaile fearainn Chluain Catha. Bhí roinnt naomh den ainm Caireall nó Coireall ann, ach ní léir go raibh baint ar ag duine ar bith acu leis an gceantar seo. Mar sin féin, an-seans gur naomh nó duine eaglasta atá i gceist leis sa logainm seo. Is ainm baineann agus fireann a bhí in Caireall/Coireall (féach A Dictionary of Irish Saints). - English
(the) (house-)site of Coireall
Coireall – personal name
This townland is situated next to an old ecclesiastical site in the townland of Clonca/Cluain Catha. There were a number of saints by the name of Caireall or Coireall, however none of them seem to have a connection with this area. Be that as it may, it seems likely that it may refer to a saint or ecclesiastical personage in this placename. Caireall/Coireall was used a male and female name (see A Dictionary of Irish Saints).
