Ainmneacha stairiúla:
Is cosúil gurb é an t-imfhálú ar an gcnoc Dandy’s Hill SO (‘now the site of a quarry’ www.archaeology.ie) atá i gceist leis an ainm stairiúil 1576 ‘Rathmadocke’, 1754 ‘Rah[.]madock’ < Ráth Mhadóg “the ring-fort of Madóg”. Tagann an t-ainm pearsanta Madóg, ar de bhunús Madawc, Madog na Breatnaise é, i gceist go minic sa cheantar seo (cf. bf Baile Mhadóg (#28222; #27731), bf Achadh Mhadóg (#28223), bf Garraí Mhadóg (#28193)).
