Cf., b’fhéidir, ainm an bhaile fearainn bf Achadh an Chairn (#28606) atá ar an taobh thiar thuaidh den phortach seo (par. na Buiríse).Tuaisceart bf Derry, de réir dealraimh, a bhí i gceist leis an logainm stairiúil 1549 ‘[Dirretullaghe cum] Ramaspoke’, 1552 ‘Rathmasbokewre’, 1563 ‘[Derry alias] Ramaspok’, 1569 ‘Rathmasbockenire’, 1587 ‘[Derrye alias] Ramaspoke’, 1607 ‘[Dirry al’] Rainaspoke al’ Rahinaspickure’, 1608 ‘[Dirreye …] Rathnasbowke’, 1608 ‘[Dirrie ows] Rainaspicke or Rahinaspickure’ < Ráth an (nó Ráithín) Easpaig Iúr “the (little) ring-fort of Bishop Iúr”, is cosúil. Cf. ‘Eascob Iubhair, trá, as é do bhaisd dha mhac dhecc Bhairr mc Cairthinn…’ i nginealach Uí Mhóra (LGen. 557.5). Níl tuairisc ar aon imfhálú sa chuid seo den bhaile fearainn ach díol spéise an teorainn pháirce leathchiorclach atá le feiscint taobh thoir den M7.
