"Pinkman Ált-a’-Bhrádha = Height of the quern or hand mill. Brádh, a quern, a hand mill (O’Reilly). The Down Survey writes this name ‘Altabraha.’ Probably the material for mill stones was found here. This is a mountainous district. This townland lies about 1 ½ miles east of Belhavel Lough. "
