DIRECTIVE (EU) 2019/1024 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL is followed, and Logainm data* is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

* By “Logainm data” we mean the placenames themselves as made available through the Logainm API. All explanatory notes accompanying the placenames, which are authored by Placenames Branch researchers (© Government of Ireland), fall outside the scope of the CC BY licence and should not be reproduced. Any reference to these explanatory notes must include proper attribution to the source. Placename citations from other sources, which have been collected by Placenames Branch researchers and are visible on Logainm, are also outside the scope of the CC BY licence and should not be reproduced. The Logainm website should not be scraped.

Attribution

If you use Logainm data, you must acknowledge this and provide attribution. We recommend the following text:

If you use Logainm data we would love to hear from you (via logainm@dcu.ie) with information about how you are benefitting from it, but this is not a requirement.

Obtaining the data

You can obtain Logainm data through the Logainm API by creating an account on the Gaois Developer Hub. Instructions and documentation regarding the API are available on docs.gaois.ie.

Logainm data is constantly changing. We recommend that you obtain updates via the API and apply changes in all copies of the data on a monthly basis. We ask that you do not exceed any rate limits set. We reserve the right to block access to the API for any user not complying with the terms of service.
