Explanatory note
- Gaeilge
the town of the muddy place
lathach -- is dócha gur foirm neamhghnách é seo den ghinideach uatha de lathach; féach tulach, gin. tulcha agus tulach. Mí-aistriúchán ar bhonn lacha / 'duck' is bunús leis an bhfoirm Bhéarla - English
the town of the muddy place
lathach -- this is probably an unusual form of the genitive singular of lathach, 'mud'; compare tulach, gen. tulcha and tulach. The English form originates in a mistranslation based on lacha / 'duck'
