  • English

    the middle third
This townland is situated between Breac-chluain/Brackloon and Tulaigh na hUamha/Tullynahoo, two townlands which the Book of Survey and Distribution (1660c) counted as one unit. An Trian Láir/Treanlaur townland contained the village Midfield; the post office of that name -- official Irish name An Trian Láir (po), q.v. -- is situated a short distance to the west in the townland of Breac-chluain/Brackloon
