Explanatory note
- Gaeilge
the fort of the king
Leathaistriúchán ar ainm an bhaile fearainn seo Dún an Rí a thug ainm Béarla don bhaile plandála Kingscourt (#3760). Socraíodh Dún an Rí mar fhoirm Ghaeilge oifigiúil in Ainmneacha Gaeilge na mBailte Poist (1969) dá réir sin. Is cosúil go dtugadh cuid mhaith Gaeilgeoirí An Chabrach ar an mbaile nua sa chaint (as ainm bhaile fearainn eile béal dorais (#3745)).
