‘the town(land)s of the Uí Chiara'‘the town(land)s of the Ó Ciaras'

    Uí Chiara – ainm treabhchais.
Ba de shliocht Uí Néill an Deiscirt iad Uí Chiara agus bhí siad ina dtiarnaí ar Bharúntacht Chairbre in iarthuaisceart Chill Dara go dtí gur tháinig na hAngla-Normannaigh i réim. (féach: Sloinnte Gaedhal is Gall, Woulfe, P.W. (1923), Ó Ciardha).
Faoi choinne níos mó eolais maidir le logainmneacha den struchtúr chéanna (ginideach iolra Ó + urú) féach Logainmneacha na hÉireann IV, imleabhar I, lch. 48-49.

    Ó Ciara – sloinne.
Ach is féidir leis an sloinne Ó Ciara a bheith sa logainm seo fosta. Bhí siad líonmhar i gCill Dara agus sa Mhí (SGG, s.n. Ó Ciardha).
