Explanatory note
- Gaeilge
‘the town(land) of the park, south’.
Cé gurb é Páirceanna an Bhaile Theas an gnáthaistriúchán de Townparks South, léiríonn a leithéid de Parktown [ows] Ballynapark’ (1782) gurbh é Baile na Páirce an leagan Gaeilge a bhí ar Townparks i mBaile Átha Troim. - English
‘the town(land) of the park, south’.
While Townparks South would typically be translated as Páirceanna an Bhaile Theas, historical references such as 'Parktown [ows] Ballynapark’ (1782) show that Baile na Páirce was the Irish form of Townparks in Trim.
