    Is anseo a bhí teampall Ard Colm, 'height of (the) doves' (cf. 1306c 'Ardcolme', Papal Taxations; 1654 'Ardcolum', Down Survey). Ainm seanpharóiste ab ea é seo a aistríodh go Béarla mar Dovehill (cf. 'Dovehill House' anseo ar léarscáileanna na Suirbhéireachta Ordanáis, etc.)

    The church of Ard Colm, 'height of (the) doves' (cf. 1306c 'Ardcolme', Papal Taxations; 1654 'Ardcolum', Down Survey) stood here. This was formerly the name of a parish translated into English as Dovehill (cf. 'Dovehill House' here on the Ordnance Survey maps, etc.)
