Explanatory note
- Gaeilge
the corner, nook of Eoghainín
Eoghainín — ainm pearsanta ar foirm dhíspeagtha í de Eoghan.
Díshamhlú -n-n > -r-n is cúis leis an leagan Béarla in -oran; ní sine an fhorbairt seo ná deireadh an 18ú haois, de réir dealraimh. - English
the corner, nook of Eoghainín
Eoghainín — diminutive form of the personal name Eoghan.
The English version in -oran is due to dissimilation (-n-n > -r-n); it would appear that this development is no older than the 18th century.
