We the inhabitants of the Barony of Ida in the County Kilkenny, always call this place...no other name than Fiodh Ard....next the Fethard in Wexford is pronounced Foidh Ard by those who speak Irish in the Barony of Shelburne, for the old people still speak that language...(O’Donovan)
