I take this as a corruption of Tuaim an t-sagairt, i.e. the priest’s mound or tumulus. It might also be a corruption Toigh mo Sacra like Saggart in the County of Dublin. Mosacra was a celebrated Saint of Hy Kinsellagh. ...St. Anne’s well...at which a pattern was kept on the 26th of July ...St. Jame’s well...(25th July.) ...The inhabitants say that in former times St. Haggard’s day which fell on the 3rd of March, was the patron of the parish. ...In the towland of Cousinstown is St. Catharine’s well, at which patterns were held in the 25th of November, about 40 years ago.
