the church of Muire
Muire — personal name (< Latin Maria). Cill Mhuire na nGall was an older version of the name which was probably obsolete by the 17th century; it was artificially revived in the 20th century, however, in publications such as Logainmneacha by R. Ó Foghludha (1935) and Conntae an Chláir by S. Ó hÓgáin (1938)
