Explanatory note

  • Gaeilge

    Ní léir bunús an logainm.

Tagann an t-ainmfhocal oidhre “heir” i gceist i roinnt logainmneacha eile, ach ní heol dúinn aon sampla eile de mar logainm aonair (e.g. bf Baile an Oidhre (#22458) (Ci 35), bf Cnoc an Oidhre (#6350) (Cl 41)).

Tá an t-alt Gaeilge le sonrú in iontrálacha 1563 ‘Tyrre’, 1564c ‘Tirry’, 1570 ‘Tyre’, 1616 ‘Tyre’. Is cosúil gur réadú é 1563 ‘Neire’ ar an tuiseal tabharthach nó logthuiseal, e.g. [do]n Oidhre, [sa]n Oidhre. (Tá an meascán céanna foirmeacha le fail faoi logainmneacha áirithe eile, e.g. bf Urcher (#3655) (Ca 34): 1584 ‘Orogher’, 1586 ‘Norgher’, 1609 ‘Trougher’ < Urchar, [sa]n Urchar, [An] tUrchar).
