Taidhgín — ainm pearsanta ar foirm dhíspeagtha é de TadhgDíol spéise an /eː/ sa chéad siolla den cháilitheoir atá le feiscint san Ainmleabhar (1838); cf. Ó Crualaoich, Logainmneacha na hÉireann IV (LG) s.n. Ballytegan (< Bealach Thaidhgín). Défhoghar /əi~ei/ a bhí san ainm Tadhg féin, de réir dealraimh, sa logainm bf Currach na dTadhg (#28401) i dTigh na hInse lastuaidh.
