Explanatory note
- Gaeilge
the odd, noticeable town?
Tá an fhianaise an-ghann — tá i bhfad níos mó tagairtí againn don bf Corbally eile i bpar. Ros Fhionnghlaise (#28547) (ar béarlú é ar An Chorrbhuaile). Tá cuma thruaillithe ar na foirmeacha sna cáipéisí luatha i Láimhscríbhinní Uí Dhuinn (1593–1607), ach is féidir glacadh le 1622 ‘Corboly alias Corroly’ CPR mar cheangal idir iad agus 1756 ‘Corbally’. (Díol spéise a mhinicí is a chuirtear -s le foirmeacha béarlaithe den logainm Corrbhaile ar fud na tíre.)
