[Derrybawn]
"This townland is bishop land and was let to Captn Hugo of Dublin and by him to Mr. [.] J. Bookey the residing tenant. It is all mountain from the south side to the great precipice at the Giants Cut near the north west corner. From this place a long the north side the precipices overhangs in places with wonderfull [sic] rocks particularly at the Giants Cut among which are oak, birch, holly and fir trees, which grow spontaneously and the N.E. quarter is all overgrown with oak which grows spontaneously. It is from this great oak wood this townland derived its name called in Irish 'Dher Bawn' or 'White Oak' in English. There are several small plantations of Irish trees near the S.E. corner between the cultivated parts let to tenants." [Desc. Rem.];
