From this ox, in Irish Damh, it is though Sliabh Ghamh- quasi Sliabh Dhamh, i.e. Mons Bovis... This may go down very well with persons who cannot trace the analogy of letters in the orthography of a word; the sound Dh suit the purpose as well as Gh in that state but the name is found written always with G not D. I mande this remark to Shaaan Baan Tympany who seemed not to see the reason why the story did not account for th ename; i.e., whinot Sliabh Ghamh (not Dh) from Damh, an ox. 341-3.
