Cill ‘ac Culláin Killmacallen Parish is called in Irish Cill ‘ac Culláin– cella Filii Callani, well cullani. There is an old church in ruins in the Townland of Killmacallen, and a well near it called Tobar Muinecheann. There is another well ein the Parish called Tobar na Glaise, from the circumstances of the cow called Glas Ghaibhneann having drank of it waters.
