This name is written Cill Fhorgla in the Annals of Inishfallen at the year 1215, but it’s meaning is not evident further than that Cill means church. Forgla may be the name of a saint but there is none such to be found in the Irish Calendar. The original church which bore this name stood at the little town or village of Killorglin not far from the modern Protestant Church, but no part of it remains at present. Some however are of the opinion that it stood two miles distant ... OD
