"Pinkman: Cnoc-na-Clasach (Claise) = Hill of the furrow or hollow. Clais, a furrow, a pit, a hollow, a valley. Clasach seems to be a modification of the genitive claise. Joyce Vol. III, page 450. An old local commentary on the name is “a hill with an open in it.” The place was sometimes called Sracreeghan. "
