Charter of the Hospital of the Holy Trinity of New Ross. Thomas Gregory, late of New Rosse, co. Wexford, merchant, having built a house for sick poor by the chapel of S. Saviour in said town, his executors, Anastasia Wise, widow of Patr. Walsh, and George Conway, gent., petitioned for its incorporation. Conway to be the first master; who with the consent of the sovereign and four seniors of the council of the town of New Rosse alias Rosseponte, shall choose a secular priest to be called a brother of the hospital, to celebrate service for the inmates in the church of S. Michael in the town ; these, with the sick poor of both sexes admitted to the hospital, are incorporated as the master, brethren, and poor. They may acquire lands to the value of £200 a year; and may plead and be impleaded. The heirs of Tho. Gregory, with consent of the sovereign and four seniors of the council of the town, shall appoint future masters. The master, brethren and poor, and the heirs of Tho.
