"Pinkman: Cor-an-ollaimh = Hill of the ollave or poet. Cor-an-ollaimh is what O’Donovan suggests for this name, and one hesitates about questioning it. Still when we look at some of the old ways of spelling this name, it is not so clear that he is correct. It was written Cornulla and Cornualladh. This latter looks very like Cor-na-nuladh, hill of the tombs or penitential stations. On the north of this townland there is a place named Halls, which O’Donovan and Joyce render Na holladha, altar tombs or penitential stations. Can this be Cor-na-nolladha?
